Privacy Policy
Last updated October 17, 2026
This policy explains what Russell Jones Mfg. Inc. ("we"), the British Columbia company that operates Halcyon Kingdom, collects when you play at halcyonkingdom.com, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We collect as little as the game needs. We don't sell personal information, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store the password itself). Your email isn't shown to other players.
- Game data: your lord name, cities, troops, items, Crowns history, reports, and the mail, chat and alliance messages you send. Names and public messages are visible to other players, as in any multiplayer game.
- Fair-play data: when and how often you play (for example which hours of the day you're active and answers to "are you there?" checks), used only to detect automated play and enforce the rules, and moderation records (warnings, mutes, bans).
- Technical data: your IP address and browser details in server logs, used for security, rate limiting and fixing problems. Error reports from the game may include your browser type. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days.
- Cookies and storage: one cookie keeps you signed in. The game also saves small settings (like your last open tab) in your browser's local storage. No tracking cookies.
Who processes it
- DigitalOcean hosts the game (servers in Toronto, Canada) and stores encrypted-in-transit nightly backups (in the United States).
- Resend sends the game's emails (such as password resets), so it receives your email address and the message.
- Stripe processes payments when you buy Crowns. Stripe collects your payment details directly; we receive only a record of the purchase (what you bought, the amount, tax and whether it succeeded), which we keep for our accounts and tax records.
Your information may be processed in Canada and the United States.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and game data while your account exists. Backups are kept for up to 60 days. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it from the live game, and it disappears from backups as they age out. We may keep moderation records about bans longer, to keep banned players out.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or ask questions about it, by emailing support@halcyonkingdom.com from your account's email address. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, Canada or California) you may have further rights, including to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
The game isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in an important way, we'll say so in the game. The date at the top shows the latest version.
